What is Pyrolsyis?

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical conversion process used to carbonise organic material by heating organic materials in a controlled environment in the absence or near absence of oxygen.

 

Through pyrolysis, low-value waste biomass can be converted into higher-value outputs such as renewable industrial fuels, biochars, bio-oils, syngas, and heat.

 

In our fight to mitigate anthropogenic climate change, it is critical that we utilise every renewable resource available and use that resource to replace or reduce the usage of fossil fuels.

 

Pyrolysis technologies are mature, cost effective, and can, with sufficient investment and the right strategy, be rolled out at scale today, which will have a meaningful impact on emissions reduction targets by 2050.
